It’s a new year, so why not try something new? Go for that Mohawk you always wanted to rock, or maybe it’s time to clean up your act and have a slick comb over so you can nail that job interview you’ve been nervous about all morning.

It’s your hair and it should express your personality. Just like you choose the kind of clothes you want to wear, you should also think about what your hairstyle says about you. If you’re stuck and bored of your current style, you’ve come to the right place. Browse the trending styles listed below and take a pick of which one you want to rock this year.

Modern day Pompadour

This is the modern day twist on the classic pompadour. This type of hairstyle works the best with medium length hair, with very short sides. For styling purposes make sure you use a strong hold wax or pomade, and then add the use of the hairdryer to create extra volume.

Hard Part Comb Over

This is another modern day twist on the good ol’ fashion comb over. This can be a bit on the dramatic side because of the hard part, but it’s deep and definitely stands out. This works the best with short/medium length hair, combined with a medium fade on the sides.

High Fade Undercut

This is a beautiful combination on two popular men’s haircuts – the undercut and the fade. You can customize the top, keeping it messing or pulling it back, and the high fade compliments the hair on top.

Choppy Fringe

Very creative style on short hair. The fringe is chopped up to give it a jagged tooth-like edge. Minimal to no product needed for this style, and it can also compliments a high or medium fade on the sides.

Low Fade

This is where the hair gets short towards the bottom of your head. This is a great option for people who don’t want to go with a full fade on the side, and want to experiment while still staying classy. It work great with a variety of hair length on top.

Short and Spikey

This is a very simple and clean hairstyle. This is a great style for guys who have a youthful appeal. It works really well with a high or low fade on the sides.

French Crop

If you want to put minimal effort and still look good, this style is for you. This cut is kept short on both sides and back, while a little longer on the top, and usually combed forward.

The Quiff

This awesome hairstyle splices together elements of the pompadour, flat top and sometimes even the mohawk. According to research, this is also judged as one of the sexiest by women.

The Fade Mohawk

That’s right; this famous cut is still hanging around. Instead of have a ridiculously long top, this cut features medium length hair in the middle strip with the fade on the side. I would recommend a medium fade so the hair on top easily blends in with the hair on the side.

As you can see, there are a variety of styles for you to try out. Some new, while others a modern twist on an oldie. What do think? Have you tried any of these styles before, or recommend any that I am missing? Leave a comment below and let us know!
